After several years of dabbling in different mediums she found her passion in encaustic (beeswax and tree resin) painting. Her inspiration comes from the glory that can be found within the Turtle Mountains and surrounding prairie.

Born and raised in Killarney, Manitoba, Hilda chose to make the North Thompson Valley, BC, her home in the mid 1980s. Being drawn to nature and surrounded by infinite beauty, "painting with light" through the lens of a camera became one of her life's many passions.
Jeanine Turnbull
She began drawing at a young age and it was when she moved to Winnipeg that she took advantage of the various art classes and art groups. A couple decades ago, she moved to a farm in Mather and lives happily with her husband, horses, dog and cat.
